Attendees of LFF’s 5th year in for something new

by Melissa Allison

The Logan Film Festival is preparing for its fifth event on Oct. 7-8 but this year’s attendees are in for something new.

It will be run in conjunction with a new event, The Block film & art festival.

Mason Johnson, producer for both events, said they’re taking advantage of the four theaters in the same block and are adding components that will make it different from other festivals.

“If you’re not going to come to our festival for film,” Johnson said. “You might come to it for education or you might come to it for the independent theater portion of it or you might just come downtown as a general public citizen and want to experience the music stage and these art installations and the gallery walk and the food trucks that might be located in our festival.”
